This beautiful black and white striped bustle gown was made by talented costumer Rachael Kras. Based in Florida's Tampa Bay area, Rachael has designed and created costumes for many professional theater and ballet productions. Here she models her own creation, inspired by her favorite book:

I am a professional costume designer and stitcher by day, cosplayer by night. I don't get to make a lot of costumes for myself due to my schedule. I'm a huge fan of Erin Morgenstern's novel "The Night Circus" and this is my cosplay as magician Celia Bowen. In the story, a network of devoted fans styling themselves "rêveurs" ("dreamers") develops around the circus; they identify to each other by adding a splash of red to garb that otherwise matches the characteristic black and white of the circus tents. I put a small "pop" of red in with the lips and the small feather in the hat band since I am a self-styled "rêveur".
